The Trilogy Networx Expander extends the wireless coverage area of Gen 3 Gateways AL-IME3-80211 or -POE to Trilogy Networx or ArchiTech Wireless Access Locks or Wireless Single-Door NetPanels within a PC network, allowing greater distances for their placement. (Each Gateway can control up to 63 locks or panels.). (Expander also supports Gen 2 Gateways). Used in place of additional Gateways, each AL-IME2-EXP Expander can extend the Gateways coverage area by approximately 100'. Typically introduced into the network when a Gateway does not provide sufficient signal strength to a particular area, it is designed to extend coverage and facilitate communications with a wireless lock, group of wireless locks and / or wireless 1-Door Networx Access Panels. The ALIME2-EXP Expander can be used with either or both Gen 2 or Gen 3 Gateways, and may be intermixed. ALIME2-EXP Expanders are more cost-effective and easier to wire than conventional gateways. They also provide a simplified Plug and Play' setup, where the Networx system automatically identifies all newly-powered Expanders and quickly self determines the best wireless signal pathways. Up to 7 Expanders can be added to support one Generation 2 or 3 Series Gateway. Depending on the sears platform chosen (Continental Enterprise, E-Access or Lenel OnGuard), each Gateway and a maximum of 7 Expanders can be addressed as one group. There are a total of 99 addressable groups supported (addressable by two rotary switches). Also both Gen 2 and 3 Gateways and matching ALIME2 EXP Expanders have a new modern styling, and 3 LED indicators, blending into any decor, and are ceiling and wall mountable. The ALIME2 Expander is powered by an AC Adapter / 6VAC Transformer.
