The Triplett GEM Series CCTV Balun (BLN-PVRJ452) is designed to efficiently transmit video and power over a single UTP cable. It supports video transmission on pins 7 and 8 and carries power on the remaining three pairs, making it a versatile solution for CCTV systems. Cable length depends on the camera's current and voltage, with an example of approximately 700' for a 24V 130mA camera. Using baluns at each end offers benefits like reduced material costs with CAT5 cable, easier installation, extended cable runs up to 1.5 miles with active baluns, support for multiple cameras on one cable, and future-proofing for IP system upgrades.
